Well, the first day service of the 2011 Because of the Times Conference is in the history books. Here are some of the highlights from the morning services. The quotes may not be exact due to so much information being preached that to write fast enough was a chore. Should have my wonderful mother-in-law teach me short hand.The Service Opened with a Drama about Jesus making you and I a masterpiece.
Bro. Terry Shock was the first preacher of the day. He preached to us a message entitled; What was in His heart & on His mind? He spoke from Philippians 2:5-9 & Luke 19:5-10. He preached a lot about having the mind of Christ requires us not to have our mind involved. He stated, "If you are breathing you need to be seeking."
He exhorted, "You can Repent, Be Baptized, & Speak in Tongues like crazy & hide your talents & go to Hell if I understand the Bible right." He followed up with Galatians 5:19-21. He stated he'd rather be sick and saved than healed and go to hell.
The another great drama on the Apostle Paul was wonderful as well.
The next event of the morning was a Forum with Sis. Shock, Bro. Stewart, Bro. Woodward, Bro. Keller, and Bro. Tenney Moderating.
T. F. Tenney - We count those Baptized & filled with the Spirit, but we don't count those who start @ repentance. Let's start counting when Jesus starts with them
Bro. Stewart - Romans 8:17. Our minds must be made up. Jesus made of Himself of no reputation. If we want to have a reputation in Heaven & Hell, you must loose your reputation on earth. He stated, "He wasn't there to mine diamonds, etc, but to do the Work of God." This he spoke when war broke out in Liberia. They wanted him to leave and go back to America and he knew he must stand by the church. Jesus stood by us. We should stand by the church.
T. F. Tenney - Satan wasn't happy about being the creature & wanted to be the creator. Jesus was the creator, but yet found it no problem to become the creature.
Bro. Keller - When the Devil tries to be like God, he realized that the one God was a father, He was a son & He was a spirit. When he tried to be like the father - He became the Father of Lies. When he tried to be like God as the son - He became the Son of Perdition. When he tried to be like God and be a spirit - He became the spirit of the anti-christ.
Sis. Shock - We are standing on to many days that we begin w/ Twitter, Facebook, Blogging, & E-Mailing instead of the Logos of God - His Word. We must have a constant relationship with the living word.
A message in tongues and interpretation came. God said, "I have called you to Simple things.
Sis. Shock - When a wooman who haven't received their own personal calling & is married to a man who has - you better find your calling...
Bro. Raymond Woodward - Submission is when your mission comes under the mission of some one else. Submission is not agreeing w/ someone else - that's agreement. Agreement is powerful but it's not submission. Submission is when you come under something you don't necessary agree in to come under the mission of another.
T. F. Tenney - An man who seeks to assend before he desends he will fall. You gotta descend before you can assend.
Bro. Raymond Woodward - It is easy to submitt to people when your out of your league. It's harder to submitt to peers. Hiring people in ministry is like marriage. Opposites attract and then they attack. People who are under us are not less than us b/c they are under us. Lead best when you let go.
T. F. Tenney - If something can't affect you heart it can't affect your destiny.
Then Bro. Bruce Howell took the Pulpit to preach.
Bro. Howell preached The Wheel or the Field. Jeremiah 18:1-6; 19:1-2; 19:10-11.
If you won't let God form you he will break you. It's either stay on the wheel or go to the field. Don't ever get off the wheel.
