Isaiah 28:10 - For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little.
Isaiah 5:1 & 2 – “Now will I sing to my well beloved a song of my beloved touching his vineyard. My beloved hath a vineyard in a very fruitful hill. It seems that no one draws lines anymore. Americans and Christians do not seem to draw lines in their lives either. The bible discusses the importance of lines in our lives and the examples of lines that were drawn for the Children of Israel. In Isaiah, He is describing his love for Israel in this poetic rendition written about Israel. Isaiah refers to Israel as the Vineyard. There are several things that stick out in the scripture that should grab our attention. First, Christ loves us enough to place us in fruitful places. God wants the best for us or he would plant our lives in any old field. Next, He stated that he fenced in this vineyard. There are lines or precepts that God has drawn for us in our lives that serve to protect us from the things in the world. However, Christians have stopped allowing these lines to be drawn in their lives. People come to God and their lives are lived just like any day before finding Christ. Jesus saved us to put us in his vineyard and he want to protect us by placing lines in our lives that we should not cross. If you stay within the lines of God’s word you will be protected. The second is the fence serves as a indication of ownership. God wants to draw lines in our lives, so that people will see the lines drawn in our lives and know that we belong to Him. Thirty years ago you could tell the difference between a Christian and non-Christian, but today it seems there is no change. We no longer draw lines in our lives.
