New Year's Resolution ( No Committments)

Well, in 2010, I fell in love with the idea of self enlightenment.  You say, "what does that mean?"  What I mean by Self Enlightenment is that I have desired like never before to learn and learn all that I can.  After being laid off from a job that I had held for over 8 years.  I was forced into looking at my life and trying to decided what I had done with the last 8 years.  The sacrifices that were made for others and I personally didn't feel that I was any better of as a person.  I realized that If I was going to continue to help individuals in any capacity, then I needed to learn more and receive more from God.  So in addition to trying to seek God more and read his Word more, I began picking up books by various authors and trying to enlarge my knowledge in many areas.  In 2010, I was able to complete the reading of 17 books in 7 months.  I would recommend all of them listed below.  Now some I would recommend more than others.

Reposition Yourself - TD Jakes
IT - Craig Groeschel
How to Receive a Miracle - Joy Haney
The Mantle of God - John Arcovio
The Nautical Hour - Tony Bailey
Four Dimensions of Prayer - Tony Bailey
The Prayer of Jabez - Bruce Wilkerson
God is More than Enough - Tony Evans
Developing the Leader within You - John Maxwell
Facing your Giants - Max Lucado
Crazy Love - Francis Chan
What Every Man Wants in a Woman - John Hagee
What Every Woman Wants in a Man - Diana Hagee
Natural Church Development - Christian A. Schwarz
The Harvest - TD Jakes
No Dry Season - Rod Parsley
In The Name of Jesus - David K. Bernard

Now back to the 2011 New Years Resolution or Commitment.  I have resolved and committed to reading through the Bible at least twice in 2011.  I have also committed to reading 50 books in 2011.  Please pray for me that I will honor God in this an increase my knowledge so the Holy Ghost will bring back to my remembrance these things when I need to use them in ministry unto the Lord.  May God bless you and keep you in 2011.  I pray this inspires you to do more for the Lord in this coming year.
